Peter J. Staver, the Owner of Staver & Anderson, P.C., has been an active member of the Michigan Bar Association since 1985. He is the founder of our firm that has served this community for over 35 years. He is a former U.S. Naval Officer, a retired Registered Nurse, and a retired Registered Nurse Anesthetist. This background and experience have contributed to his practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law, Probate Administration, and all levels of services to the health care professionals and general business owners and operators. Peter is currently concentrating his practice in the areas of Elder Law, Health Care Professionals, Probate Administration, Business and Corporate Law and Estate Planning.
Bryan C. Anderson, Partner and Shareholder in Staver and Anderson, P.C., graduated Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law in May 2012. He is licensed to practice in the Federal Courts, is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Family Law Section and Probate & Estate Planning Section, as well as a member of the Downriver Lawyers Bar Association. Bryan currently heads up the Family Law Division and Civil Litigation Division of the law firm. Well known in the Downriver Area, Bryan also assists many local, statewide and some national business owners by giving them the direction they need. Bryan assists with setting up businesses correctly and assisting owners in the navigation of driving their businesses forward safely; whether it be contractor disputes, litigation, collection matters, or contract writing. He enjoys a healthy real estate practice also as a great deal of his real estate clients are driven by his former client referrals. He is known for “getting the job done” for his clients. Estate Planning in the form of Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney also represents a percentage of his client base. Navigating families through the probate process is another area that Bryan enjoys. Whether probating an estate and/or obtaining guardianship and/or conservatorship, Bryan’s and the Firm’s dedication to his clients results in goals achieved. Bryan’s legal expertise with his compassion, understanding and love of the law has afforded him a large client base of satisfied customers. Brittany Thompson, the newest member of our attorney team, is a May, 2019 Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During law school, Brittany was Contracts I & II Teaching Assistant, an Associate Editor for the UDM Law Review, and a graduating member of the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society. She is licensed to practice in both Michigan State and Federal Courts. With a B.S. in Accountancy from Ferris State University, Brittany started her career with Deloitte as a Business Tax Consultant providing high net worth private wealth clients with tax compliance and tax planning services. Brittany now focuses her legal practice in the areas of Probate and Estate Planning, Bankruptcy, and Business legal services. During her free time, Brittany enjoys taking care of her plants, watching the food network, and volunteering at Wyandotte Animal Shelter.
Marlene S. Ronewicz has been with our firm since May, 1997. As a former business owner of a court reporting company and the beneficiary of many years of office experience, she brings invaluable legal knowledge to our firm. Marlene is not only our Administrative Office Manager who keeps this very busy firm running like a finely tuned engine, but she also manages and supports our attorneys in all of our Estate Planning, Elder Law, Medicaid, and Probate matters. Although her role is a tough one, you can never tell. She is the bond that holds us all together and we are fortunate to have her working with us.
Shelly Bryant has worked in the legal field for 20 years, beginning her career at age 18 at one of the largest law firms in Mississippi. She started out as a runner and soon moved into a legal secretary position. She relocated to Michigan and continued to grow her experience learning the State Laws of Michigan. Shelley has extensive experience in family law, probate, and litigation. In addition to her law experience, she is also a certified, trained weather spotter, reporting directly to the NWS weather conditions around the state. Shelley is married to Michael, a creative director, and producer. She has two children, Carleigh and Henry.
Rosetta McMahon, a graduate of Henry Ford Community College, Cum Laude, came to work with us in November, 1999 as an experienced paralegal. She managed case files in real estate, elder law, corporate, criminal, business law and litigation matters. As the economy struggled from 2006 through 2010, she led our loan modification and credit relief and collections department negotiating with creditors and lenders. From 2010 to present, she is the Marketing Director for our firm. In this capacity, she monitors our analytics and adword campaigns, website development and updates, and keeps us up to date on the continuing changes in the rules of ethics and regulations for online video communication in law firms.
